Yours truly puttin down some serious WOMP-WOMPs in Champaign/Urbana, IL. I’m currently traveling all over the midwest on my “summer tour” in support of my mixtape/e.p. DJ SOLO “Hated In The Nation”. If you ain’t got it yet…go get it HERE. BASS PUNX muthafucka!!!!

Schwagstock 2010 Mini-Mix (Grateful Dead, Phish, Sublime) DnB!! by DJ SOLO
Who knew?…Hippies love BASS music! So, I’ve been booked to play the late night electronic music tent at a 2-day Grateful Dead tribute festival called “Schwagstock” in the middle of the woods somewhere in Missouri. In preparation for that, I’ve made some special music just for the occasion. A ten minute teaser of the upcoming live set featuring The Grateful Dead, Phish, & Sublime all mashed up with Drum & Bass, and Hip-Hop. The live set at the event will also include some classic SA mashups, plus Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, The Flaming Lips, The Pixies, and as usual, live DJ SOLO madness!! From what I’ve heard, the hippies might actually riot if I play mashed up Grateful Dead, but if that seriously happens, I think it would be awesome to be known as the person who insighted a hippie riot with music. I’d even proudly wear a shirt that said that.
I’ve been playing a bunch of shows this summer all around the midwest, and have been calling it the “Summer Tour” even though none of the shows are related and it’s not really a tour. I just think it’s funny to be on a midwest tour, because who goes on a tour of just the midwest? That sounds ridiculous…and that’s why I like it!! So this mix is the official “leak” of the “DJ SOLO Midwest Summer Tour 2010″ (un-officially sponsored by Coke and Subway).
TOUR PICS SO FAR… (more…)
